Mary Fitzwater

Mary Frances Fitzwater of Potosi, Missouri, was born on October 3, 1926 in Melba, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Estes Strong and Ruby Mae (Lamb) Strong. Mary passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, having reached the age of 97.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her daughter-in-law, Kathy McPherson; step-children: Karen Conway, Jimmy Fitzwater, Brenda Holst, Dale Fitzwater, Garland Fitzwater, Paul Fitzwater (wife, Sandy), Patricia Henry (husband, Richard), Joe Fitzwater, Terry Lynn "Peewee" Fitzwater (wife, Karen), Angela Fitzwater, Kimberly Hodges (husband, Mike) and Nancy Ayers (husband, Bryon); two grandchildren: Melissa Pinch (husband, Jeff), Amy Oppenheim; forty-three step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren: Abby Pinch, Emma Pinch, Wil Pinch, Cameron Oppenheim; and also a host of great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren McPherson, Sr; second husband, Lloyd Fitzwater; son, Warren McPherson Jr.; and sister, Evelyn Summers.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 4 p.m. until the time of her funeral service at 6 p.m. held at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 E High St, Potosi, MO 63664. The family will hold a private burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
