Mary Bernadette Bequette of Blackwell, Missouri entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at her residence surround by her family having reached the age of seventy five years eight months and ten days. She was born on November 18, 1939 in Bliss, Missouri, a daughter to the late Wallace Bequette and Rose Ellen (Villmer) Bequette.
Bernadette is survived by her son Brian Bequette and wife Kelly of Blackwell; daughter Roxanne Bequette and Doug Short of Old Mines; seven grandchildren Sarah Gibson and husband Chad of Old Mines; Krystin Bequette of Old Mines; Blake Gibson and fiancé Emily Tessa Towner of Potosi; Gabriel Gibson of Potosi; Emily Short of Texas; Ethan Short of Potosi and Evan Short of Potosi; four great grandchildren Cadence, Grace, Zoey and Bella Rose Gibson; brother John Bequette and wife Ruth of Richwoods; also surviving are extended family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Bernadette was preceded in death by her sister Christine Daugherty; brother-in-law Regis Daugherty and nephew Wally Bequette.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 4:30-8:00 pm at the DeClue Funeral Home and on Friday, July 31, from 8:30-9:30 am at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:00 am at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri, with Father Tony Dattilo officiating and Monsignor James Hanson and Deacon Ed Boyer Co-Celebrating. Musical selections for Bernadette’s Mass were provided by the St. Joachim Choir. Honoring Bernadette by serving as pallbearers were Brian Bequette, Blake Gibson, Gabriel Gibson, Ethan Short, Doug Short and Deuante Hopkins.
Interment and final prayers will take place at the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, MO.
Funeral arrangements were respectfully cared for under the direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
