Marvin Pruitt

Marvin Elwood Pruitt of St. Clair, Missouri was born on March 4, 1952 in Potosi, Missouri, a son to Melvin E. Pruitt and the late Rosemary “Mae” (DeClue) Pruitt. On January 1, 1972, Marvin was united in marriage to Jackie Price and they shared nearly forty-seven years together.

Marvin passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the age of 66.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Jackie Pruitt; five children: Leia (Mark) Jesionowski, Christopher (Jodie) Pruitt, Jamie Emily and friend Gary Hogue, Martha McCafferty, and Jeremy (Desiree) Pruitt; father, Melvin Pruitt; fourteen grandchildren: Sierra, Joey and Alyssa Jesionowski, Tyler, Jacob Elwood, and Hana Pruitt, Taylor Duncan, Hayden Johnston, Jenna, Ross and Emily McCafferty, Mekenzie, Cadence, and Elise Pruitt; three step grandchildren and one step great grandchild; mother-in-law, Willadean Price; four brothers: George (Nancy) DeClue, Pete Pruitt, Eddie (Rebecca) Pruitt, Jerry Pruitt; five sisters: Kathy Stevens, Yvonne Heller, Michelle (Gary) Thurmond, Peg (Ben) Thurmond, and Stacy Roussin; special friends: Paula (Gary) Dunn; daughter-in-law, Debra Zahmatkesh; sons-in-law, Pete Johnston and Mike McCafferty; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his mother, Marvin was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, John Stevens, Jr..

A Memorial Visitation for Marvin E. Pruitt will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at DeClue Funeral Home, beginning at 12:00 PM. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dwight Jones officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Marvin to the American Kidney Association, American Diabetes Association, or the American Heart Association.
