Marshall Eye

Marshall ?Sonny? Downey Eye, Jr., of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on April 20, 2008 at his residence, having reached the age of seventy-one years, five months and twenty-seven days. He was born at Potosi, Missouri on October 24, 1936, a son of the late Marshall Eye and Irene Downey Eye.

He was united in marriage to JoAnn Kesselring on September 20, 1957 at Shirley, Missouri. They shared over fifty years of marriage together. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; a dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a charter member of the Potosi Elks Club and a member of the Missouri Water Well Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom; a sister, Phyllis; a grandson, Ryan Lands; his mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Elsie Kesselring.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, JoAnn Eye of Potosi; one son, Felix Eye and wife, Julie of Potosi; four daughters, Pamela Eye of Lewes, DE, Kim Lands and husband Jim of Belgrade, Elizabeth Gooch of Potosi, Candace Pashia and husband Ed, Jr. of Potosi; two sisters, Kathleen Kay of Potosi, Georgia Eye of Potosi; one brother, Elvin Eye of Steelville; a brother-in-law, Joe Kesselring and wife Peggy of Potosi; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at 12 PM at the Sonny Eye Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Don Strauser officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Felix Eye, Richard Henry, Wade Pashia, Tracy Coleman, Alex Gooch, Kyle Lands, Taylor Eye, Kevin Pashia, Justin Lands, Kristin Eye and Chelsey Moss.
All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi, Missouri.
