Mark Skaggs

Mark Anthony Skaggs of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on September 11, 2006, having reached the age of 40 years, 9 months and 19 days. He was born on November 23, 1965 at St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Pearl G. Skaggs, Sr. and Norma Jean (Dunlap) Skaggs.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Charles Skaggs.

He was a loving and devoted father and loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Fishing was one of his favorite things to do.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his children, Masie Skaggs and Anthony Skaggs of Sedalia; his girlfriend, Vanessa McEwen and children, Jonathan McEwen and Harley McEwen of Cadet; four brothers, Jack Skaggs, Jr. of Mineral Point, Tommy Skaggs and wife Joyce of Cedar Hill, Eddie Leon Skaggs and wife Marilyn of St. Louis, Steven Skaggs of St. Louis; four sisters, Janette Williams and husband Roger of Cedar Hill, Cathy Batson and husband Larry of Cadet, Neona Doris Hedrick of Salem, Lorraine (Marsha) Stringer and husband Marty of Mineral Point; nieces; nephews; cousins; aunts; uncles and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 3 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. John Lands officiating. Funeral Home pallbearers were Tony Williams, Jeff Williams, Clinton Nash, David Hill, Calvis Wright and Jimmy Skaggs; Graveside pallbearers were Tinker Skaggs, Greg Skaggs, Gordon Skaggs, Randy Stringer, Mike Williams and James Skaggs.

Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
