Marilyn Virginia Kennedy was born on May 20, 1942 in Iron County, Missouri, a daughter of the late John Henry Dunn and the late Ethel (Cowen) Dunn. Marilyn went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, September 14, 2023, having reached the age of eighty-one years, three months and twenty-five days.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Kennedy; two daughters, Regina Renee Kennedy and Tina Michelle (Kennedy) Whited; three sisters: Sherrye Laplant, Delores Lawson, and Helen Francis and four brothers: Gene, Jack, Donnie, and Richard Dunn.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her daughter, Allison Kennedy; three grandchildren: Keara Munari, Ben Whited, and William Whited; four great grandchildren: Brooke, Isaiah, Cheyenne, and Bailey; and two great-great grandchildren; two siblings: Gloridene Henson and Benny Dunn (wife, Margaret). Marilyn also leaves behind brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Marilyn had a deep and abiding love for her family, and she greatly missed all of her loved ones who had gone before her. Above anything in her life, she had a profound love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Marilyn was dedicated to her career at Central School District, serving as a custodian, where she made a lasting impact on countless lives before retiring. Marilyn was a fan of St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. She also enjoyed, sewing, crocheting, and fishing. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved and knew her.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 11 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 1 pm held at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO 63664. Bro. Robert Nash will be officiating. Musical selections will be “Why Me Lord”, The Old Rugged Cross” and “One Day at a Time”.
