Alpha ?Marie? Cooley of Bridgeton, Missouri departed this life on October 7, 2007 at Georgian Gardens Nursing Home, having reached the age of eight-seven years, nine months and fifteen days. She was born on December 22, 1919 at Davisville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Frank Sellers and Lucy ?Emma? Britton Sellers.
Marie enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Holiday get-togethers were a favorite memory. She loved preparing a feast for all to enjoy. She was a fine Christian lady, a long-time member of Berkeley Free-Will Baptist Church in St. Louis and then Trinity Free-Will Baptist Church in Bridgeton, Missouri.
Marie did volunteer work in her community, transporting older residents to doctor appointments, etc. and she also volunteered at Missouri Baptist Hospital wherever needed.
Her love for traveling led to many family vacations over the years and she even got to see some of Europe with a group of friends. Other interests were fishing, swimming and bowling. Some of her grandchildren would not have learned to swim if not for her. When someone asked her recently what she was most proud of in her life, she quickly answered, ?my family?.
