Marie Blanche Burget of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on March 28, 2012 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty seven years, four months and twenty seven days. She was born on November 1, 1924 at Potosi, Missouri a daughter to the late Harry Nichols and Alice Yelch.
Marie was a lover of flowers. Anytime anyone brought her flowers, she would take a picture of them. When the picture was developed she would put it in her scrapbook. She had scrapbooks filled with things from each person in her life.
Some of her favorite pastimes were traveling, taking pictures, gardening and crocheting.
Marie was a faithful member of Mitchell Baptist Church until she could no longer attend.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her three husbands Paul Trokey, James Mason, Carroll Burget; son Gordon Trokey; two step sons Jerry Mason, Ronald Mason; sister in law Eunice Nichols; brother Leroy Nichols; son in law George Battise; daughter in law Sue Mason and brother in law Lynn Wideman.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her sons David (Joan) Trokey of Imperial; Joe (Vicki) Trokey of Cadet; daughter Norma Battise of Biloxi, Mississippi; step children Richard (Ruth Ann) Mason of Arizona, Sherry (Tom) Martin of Texas, Sue (Tom) Gillespie of Illinois, Jeanne (Warren) Ribley of Illinois, Sandy (Jerry) Hundley of Illinois; brother Art Nichols of Potosi; sister Dorothy Wideman of Hillsboro; sister in law Verneal Nichols of Columbia; daughter in law Judy Mason of Potosi; twenty four grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10 Am at the DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Trokey, Dave Trokey, Ronnie Mason Jr., Richie Mason Jr., Frank Wideman and Jeff Nichols.
Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
