Margaret "Gelee" Theiss

Margaret Gelee Theiss of Sullivan, Missouri, formerly of Potosi, was born on December 6, 1946 in St. Louis, a daughter to the late William Lowell Nelson and the late Katherine Pauline (Denny) Nelson. Gelee as most commonly knew her, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 having reached 74 years of age.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her children: Larry Brooks and Ronda (Richard) Hammond; grandchildren: Joshua (Roberta) Hutson, Shane (Nikki) Brooks, Brian Carpenter, Jeffrey Carpenter, Billy Mills, Steven Mills and Amy Mills; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings: Connie Arndt, Jessica “Jessie” Nelson, Jerry Nelson and Shirley (Dean) Jarvis, Paulette St. Cyre and Teresa Woods; sister-in-law, Judy Nelson; and many dear nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Gelee is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Larry Guy Brooks; 2nd husband, Louise Walter Theiss, Sr.; daughter, Angela Rena Carpenter; grandson, Nicholas Carpenter; granddaughter, Dakota Hammond; siblings: Jennifer Bullock and Rev. Noel Nelson; and many other dear family members.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at DeClue Funeral Home from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Boss Assembly of God Church, beginning at 9:00 AM.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 4, 2021, held at Boss Assembly of God Church, officiated by Bro. Larry Lunsford. Interment and final prayers will be held at Boss Cemetery.
