Marcella Courtois

Marcella Jane Courtois, of Puxico, Missouri, formally of Mineral Point, departed this life on October 3, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital, having reached the age of 63 years, 6 months and 23 days. She was born on March 10, 1943 at St. Charles, Missouri, a daughter of the late Thomas Edwards and Velda (Torson) Edwards.

On February 24, 1961, she was united in marriage to Albert Francis Courtois, and to this union six children were born. They shared over twenty-six years of marriage together. Albert preceded her in death on October 22, 1988. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her children, Carol Wallschlaeger and husband Fred of Potosi, Albert Courtois, Jr. and wife Lena of Elizabethtown, KY, Judy Moore and husband Bob of Irondale, Joseph Courtois of Potosi, Michael Courtois of Puxico, Andrew Courtois and wife Megan of Sullivan; a brother, Phillip Edwards and wife Mary of Imperial, two sisters, Sue Luaders of Rolla and Jean Smith of Rolla; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 9 AM at Potosi Southern Baptist Church with Rev. John Edwards officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Fred Wallschlaeger, Sean Courtois, Alex Courtois, James Courtois, Bob Moore and Jonathan Moore. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Chris Courtois, Brandon Moore and Joey Courtois Jr.

Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
