Lymon Dodson

Lymon Leon Dodson of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on August 11, 2013 at his residence having reached the age of seventy one years, eleven months and seventeen days. He was born on August 25, 1941 in St. Genevieve, Missouri a son to the late Thomas Henry Dodson and Katy (Lore) Dodson.

In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by four brothers Curtis Dodson, Bob Dodson, Tom Dodson, Billy Dodson; three sisters Gladys Ramsey, Alene Politte and Virginia Thurman.

On August 28, 1962, Leon was united in marriage to Joyce Bowles and they shared fifty years together.

When Leon was young, he went to church with his mom at Hopewell Church of God. He liked to roller skate, fish and shoot pool. He was a truck driver most of his life and he loved to travel and meet new people. The fruits of his labor shall surely be missed.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving wife Joyce Dodson of Hopewell; four sons Roger Dodson of Florida, Vondel Dodson and wife Pattie of Hopewell, Dale Bowles and wife Wanda of Hopewell, Gary Bowles and wife Michelle of Ditner, Missouri; two sister Dorothy O'Neail of Potosi, Alberta Lampkey of Potosi; one brother Charles Dodson of Potosi; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 1 PM at DeClue Chapel with Brother Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Trokey, Bobbie Smith, Jr., Bobbie Smith, III, Edward Politte, Gerald Poucher and Gale O'Neail.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Hopewell Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
