Luther Lucas

Luther Otho Lucas of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on November 2, 2013 at Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached the age of one hundred and one years, seven months and twenty nine days. He was born on March 4, 1912 in Caledonia, Missouri a son to the late Giles Lucas and Laura (Province) Lucas.
In addition to his parents, Otho was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Frances Lucas, brother Lemro Lucas, sister Earline Dempsey, infant brother, half brothers John Lucas, Even Bable, Bill Province Bable and half sister Audrea Bable.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are a daughter Norma Knight and best friend Joe Nettles of Potosi; grandchildren Robert & Heather King of Caeldonia, Giles & Shawn King of Farmington, Charolett Crider & Husband of Bismarck; great grandchildren Ashley & Shawn Campbell of Caledonia, Nick & Hannah King of Potosi, Katie King of Farmington, Loretta & Eric Boesing of Park Hills, Crystal Crider of Potosi; great great grandchildren Layla Park & Brayden Campbell of Caledonia, Wesley Boesing of Park Hills, Blaine, Steven, Hunter Ryon, Bentley Barton and two on the way all of Potosi; very special and dear friends Donald & Betty Akers of Caledonia; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Perry Vance officiating and Don Lawson assisting. Serving as pallbearers were Robert King, Giles King, Nick King, Donald Akers, Shawn Campbell, Shawn Penington and Joe Whited. Honorary pallbearers were Ashley Campbell, Loretta Boesing and Katie King.
Interment and final prayers were held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
