Lucille Roberts

Lucille Francis Roberts of Potosi, Missouri passed away August 2, 2006 in St. Louis, Missouri, having reached the age of 89 years and 5 months. She was born on March 2, 1917, at Pilot Knob, Missouri, a daughter of the late William Womack and Lura Marler.

In 1955 she was united in marriage to Rev. George McKinley Roberts in Mississippi. They shared forty eight years of marriage. George preceded her in death on November 14, 2003. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. She was a member of the Hopewell Church of God.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by a son, Zane Smith; three infant sisters; two infant brothers; three sisters, Nancy Goodson, Velma Lee and Delma Hill; and a brother, Harry Woods.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her daughters, Bonnie West of Potosi, Connie Orr and husband Paul of St. Charles; two brothers, Richard Woods of Potosi and Raymond Woods and wife Deloris of Adams, TN; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; special friends, Leatha Bowles and Robert Geritano; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jimmy Hill officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Jones, Brian Owens, Thad Jones, Shane Jones, Joey Owens and Robert Gevitano.

Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
