Louis Theiss

Louis Walter Theiss Sr. of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on April 23, 2012 at his residence having reached the age of sixty five years, four months and eleven days. He was born on December 12, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri a son to the late Louis A. Theiss and Grace L. (Kraus) Theiss.

On August 8, 1998, Louis was united in marriage to Margaret "Gelee" Nelson and they shared almost thirteen years together.

Between 1983 and 1984 Louis helped build the Cedar Hill Elks Lodge #2678. There he became a chartered member. In 2000 when he and his wife moved to Potosi, Louis became a member of the Potosi Elks Lodge #2218.

In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by a son Louis "Butch" Theiss, Jr.; sister Adelaide Sawyer; step daughter Angela Rena Carpenter and a step grandchild Nicholas Carpenter.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Margaret Theiss of Potosi; son Charles Theiss of Texas; daughter Carin (Shaun) Renfro of Tennessee; stepdaughter Ronda (Richard) Hammond of Cedar Hill; step son Larry (Bambie Mills) Brooks of High Ridge; brother Allan (Melanie) Theiss of Villa Ridge; eight grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

A Memorial service was held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 6 Pm at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Don Strauser officiating.
In addition, a service was held at 7:30 pm by fellow friends from the Potosi Elks Lodge #2218.

All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
