Loretta Mae Richards of Cadet, Missouri was born on September 18, 1934 in Cadet a daughter to the late Cecil Ward and the late Rosie (DeGonia) Ward. On September 15, 1954, Loretta was united in marriage to Elmer W. Richards and they shared sixty-three years together.
Loretta entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her home at the age of eighty-three.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Elmer Richards of Cadet; six children: Linda (Charles) Ridenour of Cadet, Billy (Krissy) Richards of Leasburg, Gene Richards of Florida, Joyce (Joe) Sampson of Cadet, Annette (Willie) Harris of Farmington, Jeff Richards of Cadet; two brothers: Theodore Ward of Joplin and James (Gearlean) Ward of Oklahoma; sister, Joyce (Ben) Farris of Potosi; brother-in-law, Ralph Richards; nine grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by six siblings: Deliphine Farris, Lena Ward, Alfred Ward, Katherine Bone, Alice Banks and Donald Ward. Also preceding her in death are many special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation for Loretta was held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 4:30-8 p.m. and Friday, December 8, from 9-11 a.m. at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. held from the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. David Reed officiating. Honoring Loretta by serving as casket bearers were Billy Richards, Joe Sampson, Willie Harris, Joey Sampson, Brad Sampson and Rusty Missy.
Interment and final prayers were held in the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted into the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
