Loretta Irene Essmyer of O'Fallon, Missouri was born on August 12, 1924, a daughter to the late Harry Brickey and the late May Fitzwater. She was a long-time member of the Eastern Star - Brentwood Chapter.
Loretta entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2017 at the Garden View Care Center of O'Fallon having reached the age of ninety-two years, nine months, and twenty-eight days.
Loretta will be missed by all who knew and loved her including her son, Kevin Essmyer and wife Michele of St. Paul; daughter, Karen Harms and husband Michael of Napa, California; brother, Walter Brickey and wife Mima of Davisville; sister, Louise Free of Potosi; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Loretta is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald "Don" Hugh Essmyer; daughter, Janet Glasener; and brother-in-law, Ray Free.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, June 15, 2017, beginning at 9:00 AM.
A funeral service for Loretta will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Mike Jarvis officiating.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the New Masonic Cemetery. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the arrangements for Loretta during this time of remembrance.
