Lola Mae McMurtrey of Bismarck, Missouri was born on February 28, 1935 in Ewing, Missouri, a daughter to the late William F. Coultas and the late Esther E. (Stover) Coultas. On May 18, 1956, Lola was united in marriage to Frederick Henry Clarke and three children were born to this union. After the passing of her first husband, Lola married Paul Bobby McMurtrey on July 17, 1972 and they shared forty-seven years together. Lola entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 7, 2019 having reached eighty-four years of age.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Bob McMurtrey; two daughters: Nancy (husband, Bob) Yount and Clara (husband, Earl) Province; daughter-in-law, Michaelle Clarke; six grandchildren: Nathan (wife, Laura) Harl, Scott (wife, Alyssa) Harl, Justin (wife, Shelly) Province, Jennifer (husband, Matthew) Turner, Rebecca Clarke and Theresa (husband, Kyle) Hubbard; eight great-grandchildren: Caleb Harl, Emily Harl, Keeley Province, Clarke Province, Briley Turner, Laurie Turner, Aurelia Hubbard and Elowen Hubbard; also surviving are many dear nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, William and Esther Coultas, Lola was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick Henry Clarke; son, Frederick Henry Clarke, Jr.; and six siblings: Richard, Robert, Harry, Daisy, Judy and Mary Francis.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, November 11, 2019, beginning at 9:00 AM.
A funeral service for Lola will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rick Lasley officiating. Interment will be held following the service at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
