Loetta Johnson

Loetta Johnson of Potosi, Missouri, was born on January 31, 1930, in Alton, Missouri, a daughter of the late Roy Lee Johnson and the late Essie Nan (Wilder) Johnson. Loetta went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 29, 2016 having reached the age of eighty six years, eight months and twenty eight days.

On July 30, 1945 Loetta was united in marriage to Gerthal Johnson.

Loetta is survived by her eight children Kay Rennick of St. Louis, Deatra Bailey and husband Bob of Mineral Point, Vanessa McNail and husband Richard of Centerville, Missouri, Glen Johnson of Potosi, Billy Johnson of Alton, Missouri, Charlie Johnson of Potosi, Joshua Johnson of St. Louis and Rockie Johnson of Potosi; one sister, Estlee Kelly and husband Jim of Doe Run; daughter-in-law Melissa Johnson of House Springs; son-in-law Bill James of Fredericktown; sister-in-law Joann Johnson of Ava, Missouri; thirty one grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; also surviving are many other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Loetta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerthal Johnson; six children: Loeta James, Len Johnson and wife Carol, Robert Johnson, Sharon Salsman and husband Jackie, Clifford Johnson and Danielle Johnson; one brother, James Johnson.

Visitation was held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the DeClue Funeral Home.

Funeral Service was conducted Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ardell Gray assisted by Bro. Lloyd Shepard.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri.

DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements of Loetta during this time of Remembrance.
