Lindell Francis Minx of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on August 23, 2012 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty two years, two months and twenty nine days. He was born on May 25, 1930 in Cadet, Missouri a son to the late John Minx and Fannie (Yarbrough) Minx.
In addition to his parents, Lindell was preceded in death by four brothers John Minx, Jr., Norman Minx, Jimmie Dale Minx, LeRoy Minx and a sister Anna Mae Minx.
On April 5, 1954, Lindell was united in marriage to Gladys Middleton and they shared fifty-eight years together.
Lindell served in the United States Army from February 23, 1953 to March 4, 1955. He also was a dedicated UAW worker and retired, with perfect attendance throughout his employment, from Chrysler in 1990. After retirement he spent a lot of time wood working in his shop. His other favorite pastime activities included hunting, fishing, and riding his four wheeler. He enjoyed visiting with the large extended family. Lindell was a man of God and on November 7, 1999 he became a member of the Unity Baptist Church. While attending Unity Baptist Church he sang solos in the church weekly.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Gladys Minx of Mineral Point; two brothers Wayne (Sharon) Minx of Cadet; Tom (Emma) Minx of Cadet; sister Maxine (Bill) Pratt-Snell of Potosi; a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much; other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 2 PM at the Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Guy Conway officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jimmie Minx, Little Jimmie Minx, Randy Minx, Leroy Minx, Brian Middleton, Tim Middleton, Tim Stringer, Mike Stringer, Little Mikey Stringer.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Full military honors was presented by the United States Army and Local VFW Post #6996 in recognition of Lindell's brave service to our country. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
