Lila Ann Davis, peacefully went to be with Jesus on Thursday, December12, 2024, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 12, 1955, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, Lila was a cherished daughter of the late John F. and Dorothy (Weekley) Davis.
As a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Lila's life was a testament to her unwavering loyalty and dedication to her loved ones. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and love, where countless memories were made and shared. She is survived by her son JD Cosby (wife, Tiffany); grandson Eli Cosby (wife, Emma); great-granddaughter Adeline Cosby; daughter Lisa Cosby; granddaughter Myah Lay; brother Jonathan Wayne Davis (wife, Gay); sister Janet Price (husband, Roy "Butch"); sister Jonna Grubbs (husband, Travis). Lila also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many bonus grandkids too numerous to count, all of whom she adored deeply.
Lila is preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Dorothy Davis; her brother, Ronnie Davis; and her niece, Heather King. She leaves behind an irreplaceable legacy of faith, love, and cherished moments that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lila found joy in her role as a caregiver for many people in the community, treating everyone she encountered as her own family. Her most recent position at the Washington County Memorial Hospital Gift Shop allowed her to spread love and offer prayers to those in need, bringing comfort and light into their lives. Colleagues regarded her as a grandmother figure, a testament to the big personality she carried – always ready for a competitive game of dominoes or cards, paired with a hot cup of coffee.
Lila was a dedicated member of Reviving Hope Church of God. She had a passion for cooking and serving others, especially her church family. Lila prepared many dinners and provided many laughs and a warm smile at church gatherings.
A talented seamstress, Lila spent many hours at her sewing machine. However, above all, it was her faith in Jesus that illuminated her life and the lives of those around her. Her unwavering devotion inspired many, and her love shone brightly for everyone to see.
