Leonard D. Palmer of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on May 7, 2011 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty nine years, nine months and eleven days. He was born on July 26, 1921 at Belgrade, Missouri a son to the late George Palmer and Margaret (Walton) Palmer.
Leonard served in the United States Army from 1942-1945. Some of his medals he received were European-African-Middle Eastern; Two Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Medal and Purple Heart.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by three brothers Robert Palmer, Lynton Palmer and Max Palmer.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are special friends Clyde Nipper and wife Margaret Nipper of Belgrade; niece Dorris June Jenkins and other friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Wendell Nipper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were David Dickey, Chuck Olmstead, Michael Gum, John Mason, Pete Phelps and Clyde Nipper.
Interment and final prayers were held at Liberty Baptist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
