Leona Kean

Leona A Kean of Bonne Terre, Missouri, was born on October 15, 1935, in Mineral Point, Missouri, a daughter of the late Herman & Laura (Missey) Drennen. Leona passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-six years, five months, and twenty-one days.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her children: Michael Kean, Joyce Portell (husband, Randy); grandchildren: Kevin Politte (wife, Regine), Craig Politte (wife, Marcy), Abi Feltner (husband, Matt), Clint Portell (wife, Brooke), Josh Portell (friend, Noelle), Nick Portell (wife, Brandi), Renee Jarvis (husband, Jeff), Gabe Portell (wife, Dionna); thirty-one great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Kean (husband, Floyd), three sisters-in-law: Betty Drennen, Rita Goodson, and Wiladean Price. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Kean; children: twin babies, Janet and Debra, and Patsy “GPat” (Kean) Boyer; siblings: Elnora Jones-Fowler, Evelyn Downard, Eugene Drennen, Irvin Drennen, Carl Drennen; and many other dear family members.

A visitation for Leona will be Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 4 to 7 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 7 pm at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating.

A graveside service will be held at New Diggins Cemetery in Mineral Point on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 10 am.
