Leoma Huskey

February 24, 1943 — November 22, 2011

Leoma Mammie Politte Huskey of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on November 22, 2011 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center having reached the age of sixty eight years, eight months and twenty nine days. She was born on February 24, 1943 at Cadet, Missouri a daughter to the late Francis Politte and Dorothy (Rulo) Politte.

On August 24, 1962, Leoma was united in marriage to Eugene Huskey and they shared twenty two years. Eugene predeceased Leoma on March 13, 1984.

Leoma received the Lord during a Satuday night service at Sister Fabie's church in DeSoto. She later attended Potosi Full Gospel Church where her husband Gene received the Lord. In the late 1980's Leoma started attending Potosi Church of God where she became a member on September 8, 1991and was baptized in the Forshe Renault creek on May 22, 1994.

Leoma faithfully attended church and enjoyed singing her favorite songs with her friends Midge and Erma. She also enjoyed listening to southern gospel music, especially her favorite group, the Hinson's. Leoma worked for Missouri Home Heath for approximately ten years, where she received good service awards. Aside from serving the Lord and attending church, Leoma enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Before becoming unable to drive, you would see Leoma and her grandkids every Sunday morning, on their way to Sunday school.

Leoma left a legacy and was a Godly influence to her six children, twenty grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. We all have precious memories of our wonderful and beautiful mom and grandma Lomi that we will cherish until the glorious day we are reunited with her.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day ~ and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing (Timothy 4:7-8)

In addition to her parents and late husband, Leoma was preceded in death by two sisters Judy Boyer, Mary Skaggs and a brother Larry Politte.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her four sons David (Tracy) Politte of Mineral Point; Bobby (Crystal) Huskey of Cadet; Mark (Claudia) Huskey of Cadet; Steve (Robin) Huskey of Mineral Point; two daughters Jody Huskey and fiancé Sam Skiles of Mineral Point; Tammy (Bobby) Lee of Irondale; four sisters Virgie (Dale) Welker of Potosi; Ruth Ann (David) Fenstermaker of Potosi; Clara (Enice) Pennington of Potosi; Clarice (Dave) Buckley of Belgrade; two brothers Herman Politte of Cadet; Gary Politte of Potosi; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
