Leo Sappington

March 5, 1931 — September 20, 2014

Leo Ray Sappington of Birch Tree, Missouri passed away on September 20, 2014 at the Mountain View Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty three years, six months, and fifteen days. He was born on March 5, 1931 in Ebo, Missouri a son to the late William W. Sappington and Fannie (Cresswell) Sappington.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are two sons: William J. "Bill" Sappington and wife Shelia of Birch Tree, Missouri, and Leo Sappington, Jr. of Wynona, Missouri; three daughters: Betty Blake, Mary Lee Sappington, and Annie Evans all of Fletcher, Missouri; one brother Rosco Sappington and wife Bernadette of Potosi, Missouri; one sister Bertha Lemasters and husband Bill of Lebanon, Missouri; Special Friend Margaret "Crickett" Boyer; twelve grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his son Danny Sappington, sister Allie Conley, brother William C. "Bill" Sappington, and grandson John Casey Sappington.
Funeral services for Leo will be conducted on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the DeClue Family Memorial Chapel with Rev. Archie Taylor officiating. Leo's service will conclude with Full Military Honors presented by the United States Navy and the Potosi VFW Post 6996.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the Smith Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri. All arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
