Leo Cover

Leo L. Cover, Jr. of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on February 19, 2013 at his residence having reached the age of eighty one years, six months and twenty six days. He was born on July 24, 1931 in Ishmael, Missouri a son to the late Lincoln Cover and Lonnie (Johnston) Cover.

In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by a granddaughter Nikki Lawson; five sisters Beulah M. Cover, Nadeen Cover, Betty Ann Cover, Dorothy M. Cooley, Arbell Downard; two brothers Elwood Cover and Gene Cover.

On December 22, 1951, Leo was united in marriage to Beatrice Marie Cantrell and they shared sixty one years together.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Marie Cover of Potosi; four daughters Deborah Whitten and husband Rex of Texas, Dianna Lawson and significant other Larry Keller of St. Louis, Peggy Vance and husband Mike of Potosi, Sandra Knowles and husband Buddy of Texas; son Leo Wayne Cover of Texas; two sisters Roseleen Cox of Branson, Vivian Woods of Morrison, Missouri; brother Donald Cover of Potosi; six grandchildren Becky Griffith, Tina Bourisaw, Sherry Brasher, Shawntay Sitzes, Michael Vance, Sarah Vance; six great grandchildren Christopher Cover, Lindsey Griffith, Kameron Eye, Quintin Sitzes, Lexie Griffith, Peyton Griffith; four step grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Bob Thurman officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Vance, Jr., Christopher Cover, Kameron Eye, Quinton Sitzes, Berry Sitzes and Kevin Cantrell.

Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
