Lena Yount

Lena L. Yount of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on August 13, 2012 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of eighty seven years, seven months and sixteen days. She was born on December 28, 1924 in Patton, Missouri a daughter to the late Holly Evans and Ada (Wilson) Evans.
In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband Ray Orville Yount; daughter Paula Marie Eye; grandson Seth Yount; two infant grandsons Eli Eye, Kasey Eye; sister Freda Skiles; four brothers Dellis Evans, Sidney Evans, Otto Evans and Ted Evans.
Mom provided a daily testament to a beautiful life well lived. Her love for people shone through her eyes and the love for her Lord graced everything she did and touched everyone she came in contact with. Our daddy died young but mom continued to guide her children as she knew he wanted and with God's direction. Her delight in her family, most especially in her "babies" as she called them, was evident to everyone who knew her.
This world was a more joy-filled place to be because Lena Yount walked through it. We thank you, God, for choosing this special mother and grandmother for us. You could have sent her to anyone but we won the prize.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are three daughters Shelia Yount of Potosi, Brenda Swift and husband Randy of Potosi, Robin Belfield and husband Chuck of Potosi; one son Tim Yount and wife Vicki of Potosi, eight grandchildren Adam Yount and wife Beth of Festus; Noah Yount and wife Shanna of Potosi; Carah Yount and fiancé Van of Festus; Christopher Swift and wife Jennifer of Terre Du Lac; Jordan Belfield and wife Jennifer of Terre Du Lac; Micah Belfield of Fenton; Aaron Eye of Potosi; Alex Eye of Potosi; five great grandchildren Cyrus Yount, Braden Swift, Holden Swift, Madalyn Swift, Noah Belfield; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11 Am at the Potosi Southern Baptist Church with Rev. H. Wayne Isgriggs officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Adam Yount, Christopher Swift, Noah Yount, Jordan Belfield, Aaron Eye and Micah Belfield.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
