Lena Nickelson

Lena May Nickelson of Belgrade, Missouri passed away on December 3, 2005 at the Mineral Area Regional Hospital, having reached the age of 85 years, 7 months and 1 day. She was born on May 2, 1920 at Sunlight, Missouri, a daughter of the late Charles Turner and Bertha (Larmer) Turner.

She was united in marriage on April 4 1941 to James J. Nickelson, and to that marriage three children were born. James preceded her in death. They enjoyed many years of marriage together. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a long time member of the Belgrade United Methodist Church and trustee of the Sunlight Cemetery.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lena was preceded in death by a son, Larry Nickelson and a brother Glynn Turner.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her daughters, Wanda Bone and husband Tom of Festus, Karen Nickelson of Chicago, IL; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Nickelson; five grandchildren, Michelle Laiben, Renee Rich, Chad Nickelson, Bryce Nickelson and Autumn Nickelson; 5 great grandchildren, Brendan and Tanner Laiben, Logan & Lindsey Rich and Chadley Nickelson; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 PM on Monday, December 5, 2005 at the Belgrade United Methodist Church with Rev. Julius Ketsenburg officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chad Nickelson, Bryce Nickelson, Ron Laiben, Brian Rich and Brendan Laiben.

Interment and final prayers were held at Sunlight Cemetery, Belgrade. All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
