Lena Dolores Johnston, of Potosi, was born on March 20, 1928 in Graniteville, Missouri, a daughter to the late Edward Keenan and the late Alma (Carty) Keenan. On January 25, 1947, Lena was united in marriage to Glenwood Johnston and they celebrated fifty-six years together.
Lena entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her residence having reached the age of eighty-nine years, eight months, and twelve days.
Lena is survived by all who loved and missed her including her children: Beverly Bartz of Davisville, Glenda (Noel) Brakefield of Potosi, Billy (Phyllis) Johnston of Farmington, Yvonne (Harold) Bush of St. Clair, Georgia (Alan) Smith of Belgrade, and Eddie Dean (Cindy ) Johnston of Potosi; three siblings: Ronnie (Mary) Keenan of Cedar Hill, Bobby (Cheryl) Keenan of Belgrade, and Carol Ann (Dave) Likely of Ironton; and fifty-five total grandchildren; also surviving are many extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Lena is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenwood “Booge” Johnston; son-in-law, Al Bartz; brothers: Charlie Keenan, Andy Keenan, Marvin Keenan, Billy Clyde Keenan, and Marion Keenan; and sisters: Jean Neithe, Joyce Keenan, and Maxine Price.
Visitation for Lena will be held at the DeClue Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 4:30 until 8:00 PM and will resume on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, beginning at 9:00 AM.
A funeral service for Lena will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
