Lena Emily

Lena Mae Emily of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on March 24, 2012 having reached the age of ninety years, three months and three days. She was born on December 21, 1921 at Richwoods, Missouri a daughter to the late Fredrick Emily and Emma (Robart) Emily.

In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by three brothers Melvin Emily, Lawrence Emily, Reuben Emily; sister Delphine Reed and two sisters in law Betty Emily and Louise Emily.

Some of Lena's favorite pastimes were gardening, canning and telling stories of old times about her family and their way of life. Lena was a parishioner of the Saint James Catholic Church for many years. There she was a member of the ladies sodality. Prior to Lena's passing she received the sacrament of the sick.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are sister in law Jeannie Emily; numerous nephews, nieces and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 10 Am at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Joe Welschmeyer officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Kurt Emily, Doug Emily, Ethon Emily, Derek Emily, Dylan Emily and Norman Emily. Serving as an honorary pallbearer was Elijah Emily.

Interment and final prayers were held at St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
