Lela Ruth Gibson was born on August 23, 1928 in Belleview, Missouri, a daughter to the late Lonnie Thompson and the late Myrtle (Bennett) Thompson. On October 13, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to Otto Boyd Gibson and three children were born unto this union.
Ruth entered eternal rest on Monday, April 22, 2019 having reached ninety years of age. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Otto Boyd Gibson; two grandsons: J.D. Sinclair and Adam Sinclair; brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Nancy Thompson; and brother-in-law, Harold Lewis.
Survivors include one son, Stephen Gibson; two daughters: Linda (John) Sinclair and Beverly (Rick, Sr.) Robinson; sister, Lula (Don) Akers; grandchildren: Michelle (Kendrick) Sifford, Mike Gibson, Natalie (Darrell) Morgan, Matt (Michelle) Sinclair, Tanya Sinclair (J.D.'s wife), Sarah (Joe) Wentz, Rick Robinson, Jr., Jay (Ruta) Robinson, Brittany Robinson; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother-in-law, Bill (Leona) Gibson; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at DeClue Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service to honor Ruth will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wayne Isgriggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
