Lawrence Marvin Jackson

January 23, 1936 — March 21, 2022

Lawrence “Marvin” Jackson a lifelong resident of Potosi, Missouri, was born on January 23, 1936 at Cadet, Missouri, which was also known as Fountain Farm at that time. He was a son to the late David Daniel Jackson and the late Lona Mae (Missey) Jackson.

Marvin proudly served in the United States Army from October 1, 1961 to December 1, 1964. On February 14, 1995, Marvin was united in marriage to Eva Mosier and they shared 27 years of life and love together. Marvin worked very hard throughout his life. He was proud to have been able to work up to age 75 laying asphalt. He was a parishioner of St. Joachim Catholic Church. Marvin had a great love for music. He wrote and recorded many songs through the years. One of his greatest accomplishments that Marvin was so proud of was that the rights to one of his songs were purchased by a poplar video game company known as Rock Star. Marvin found joy in playing his guitar and singing at the Sayers Senior Center and the local nursing homes for the residents. He also loved playing music at his church. In addition to his passion for music was his love for his cats and animals in general. He enjoyed the beauty of nature. Marvin never met a stranger. Once you met him, you had a friend. He was a kind hearted man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Marvin passed away peacefully at his home with his family beside him on Monday, March 21, 2022. He had reached the age of 86 years, 1 month, and 25 days.

Those who remain to cherish his memory include his four children: Marvin Lee Jackson (wife, Jane), Shelley Higginbottom, Tammy Hochstatter (husband, David), and Bruce Mosier; four grandchildren: Kaylee Jackson, Caleb Higginbottom, Garrett Higginbottom, and Lacey Vance (husband, Zach); four great grandchildren: Cove, Clara, Ava, and Millie; two siblings: David Jackson (wife, Marcia) and Barbara Keefe; and special friend, Bernna Sheldon.
