Laverna Drennen

August 9, 1931 — December 20, 2008

Laverna Mae Drennen of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on December 20, 2008 at her residence having reached the age of seventy seven years, four months and eleven days. She was born on August 9, 1931 at Mineral Point, a daughter of the late Joe Kean and Lora June McGhee Kean.

On January 14, 1948, Laverna married Eugene Drennen and they shared fifty five years together. Mr. Drennen preceded her in death on February 11, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Bobby Kean; two sisters Wanda Kean and Brenda Ames; brother in law Clifford Adams; two nieces Laverna ?Vernie? Rulo and Brandy Koeln.

She was a lifelong member of the New Diggins Church and she dearly loved her church and family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her three daughters Marie Williamson and husband Tom of Mineral Point; Judy Price and husband Vincent of Mineral Point; June Christopher and husband Brian of Mineral Point; son Ronald Drennen and wife Barbara of Cedar Hill; four sisters Dorothy Adams of Mineral Point; Betty Drennen and husband Ervin of Mineral Point; Rosemary Cain of Potosi; Winona Goodson and husband John of Potosi; Floyd Kean and wife Shirley of Mineral Point; Roy Kean and wife Barb of Mineral Point; eleven grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Steve Campbell and Rev. Wayne Kean officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Ronald Price, Ronald Drennen, Vincent Price, David Fox, James Randolph, Michael Wright, JR Price and David Price.

Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
