Larry Akers

Larry Ralph Akers of Arnold, Missouri, formerly of Belgrade, Missouri entered into rest on Friday, January 2, 2015 at his residence having reached the age of seventy years, two months and twenty three days. He was born on October 10, 1944 in Belgrade, Missouri, a son to Hilda (Halbert) Akers and the late Lester Akers.

Larry is survived by his mother Hilda Akers of Arnold, Missouri; son Brian Akers of Jacksonville, North Carolina; daughter Cheryl Bay and husband Timothy of Ballwin, Missouri; brother Lester Akers of Richwoods, Missouri; two grandchildren Gretchen and Christopher Hogenmiller; mother of his children Maria Knight of Jacksonville, North Carolina; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by one son Christopher Akers.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 from 4:30 until 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664.

Funeral services for Larry will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton Officiating.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Palmer Cemetery where full military honors will be presented by the United States Air Force and Local VFW Post# 6996.
