Lanny Parks

July 2, 1967 — August 26, 2013

Lanny Lynn Parks of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on August 26, 2013 having reached the age of forty six years, one month and twenty four days. He was born on July 2, 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri a son to Ruth (Womack) Swyers and the late Paul Parks.

In addition to his father, Lanny was preceded in death by a nephew Brendon Rinne and his grandparents Effie & Hurlin Parks and Frank & Claire Womack.

Lanny spent his youth playing hard, running over the hills in the woods around his Belgrade home with his many cousins and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and just hanging out.

He graduated from Valley R-6 in 1985. He was fun loving and many of his friends have great Lanny stories to tell. All would agree that no one could tell a story quite like Lanny.

He spent his working years as a journeyman roofer and traveling around the country with his cousins and buddies. He was known to be a very hard worker.

Lanny believed in God and was at peace with his maker. He read and carried his Bible, even making notations of importance.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his mother Ruth Swyers and husband Tom of Steelville; four sons David Parks of Caledonia, Tristan Parks of Belgrade, Lane Parks of Bonne Terre, Walker Parks of Bonne Terre; two sisters Paula Rinne and husband Scott of Belgrade, Tina Civey and husband Michael of Caledonia; three nephews Hunter Civey, Keegan Rinne, Hayden Civey; one niece Hayley Civey; girlfriend Erin DeClue; numerous cousins, relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conduced on August 29, 2013 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Harrison Brown officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Civey, Scott Rinne, Hayden Civey, Keegan Rinne, David Parks, Curtis Parks and Chris Parks.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Palmer Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
