Kimberly Lasley

November 3, 1955 — January 31, 2019

Kimberly Ann Lasley was born on November 3, 1955 in La Salle, Illinois, spending her early years in the home of her newspaperman father, Harry Arthur Kmieciak and the late Mary Elizabeth (Merriman) Kmieciak. When her father passed away she and her mother, Betty moved to Kirkwood in the early 60’s to live with her mother’s parents. While there she attended John F. Kennedy High School, went to Mass regularly at St. Gerard Majella Roman Catholic Church, spent summers at the family’s cabin on Norfolk Lake in Arkansas. After Kennedy Kim left to continue her education at the University of Missouri in the School of Social Work in Columbia, MO.
While there, Kim met her soon to be husband, Richard C. Lasley. After graduation they were married in Kim’s home church on November 4, 1978 and have shared forty years together. During this time they lived in Texas, California and Missouri. Kim worked as a unit secretary at Missouri Baptist Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center, a counselor with the Texas Employment Commission and as a medical records coder at hospitals in Loma Linda, CA Sikeston and Fredericktown, MO.

Kim passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at her home in Caledonia at the age of sixty-three.

Kim is survived by her husband Rev. Rick Lasley; one son, Brian Lasley; aunt, Rosemary Merriman; cousins: Jan McKee, Kent (Carla) Merriman, Michael (Ursula) Merriman, Mary Merriman and John (Angela) Merriman.

In addition to Kim’s parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Marie Lasley; uncle, William Merriman; cousins: Edward McKee and Molly Merriman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Caledonia United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11 AM. Officiating at this service will be Mrs. Cindy Sadler. Flowers will be welcomed, but please consider a memorial donation to Caledonia or Bismarck United Methodist Churches, the American Cancer Society, or Serenity Hospice Care.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
