Kenneth Mitchell

November 17, 1932 — March 12, 2016

Kenneth Nelson “Pete” Mitchell of Park Hills, Missouri, formerly of Caledonia entered into rest on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Farmington Presbyterian Manor having reached the age of eighty three years, three months and twenty four days. He was born on November 17, 1932 in Caledonia, Missouri, a son to the late Guy Mitchell and the late Dora (Huitt) Mitchell.

On December 23, 1960, Kenneth was united in married to Thelma Conley in Caledonia and the shared fifty five years together.

Kenneth proudly served his Country during the Korean War in the United States Navy from April 7, 1952 to April 3, 1956. During his time in the service, Kenneth received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Korean Service Medal.
Kenneth is survived by his loving and devoted wife Thelma Mitchell of Park Hills; two daughters Melinda (John) Schilli of Weingarten, Missouri; Dora (Rhonda Gamble) Mitchell of DeSoto ; grandson John Mitchell Schilli of Weingarten, Misouri; brother-in-law Lloyd Brewen of Farmington; also surviving are many other nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two brothers Albert Mitchell and wife Esther Rose, Robert Mitchell and wife Margaret; four sisters Mary Mitchell, Helen Sutton and husband Charles, Alice Brewen and Ruth Turner and husband Glynn.

Friends may call on the family Tuesday, March 15, from 4:30-8:00 pm at the DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, March 16, at the Caledonia United Methodist Church beginning at 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am with Rev. Rick Lasley officiating.

Honoring Kenneth by serving as his pallbearers will be: Bob Turner, Tom Turner, Jim Mitchell, Dennis Mitchell, John Schilli, and John Mitchell Schilli.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the United States Navy. Funeral arrangements have been respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be directed to the Alzheimer's Association In memory of Kenneth.
