Kenneth Cordingly of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on June 13, 2005 at his residence, after reaching the age of 78 years, 9 months and 12 days. He was born on September 1, 1926 in Upton, WY, a son of the late Vernie Arthur Cordingly and Florence May (Atkins) Cordingly.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Shirley Gibson on November 24, 1975. He and Shirley have shared over twenty nine years of love and devotion. He moved to this area thirteen years ago from Sacramento, CA and it became home to him. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather. He retired from Consolidated Freightways in 1989 after driving for them for thirty eight years.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother Howard Cordingly, two sisters, Vivian Horn and Loraine Bear.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Shirley Cordingly; four sons Larry Cordingly and wife Melody of Oakland, CA, Danny Cordingly and wife Wah of Brentwood, CA, Mike Cordingly of Livermore, CA, David Cordingly and wife Andrea of Madison, ME; three daughters, Cheri Wright of Manteca, CA, Vickie Ancalade and husband Mike of Livermore, CA, Laura Wright of Manteca, CA; three step-sons Dennis Marler and wife Crystal of Carson City, NV, Duane Marler and wife Terri of Potosi, Danny Marler and wife Stacey of Potosi; two brothers Virgil Cordingly of Belle Fourshe, SD, Stanley Cordingly and wife Lola of Thermopolis, WY; three sisters Georgia Dague of Tullahoma, TN, Fern Blakeman and husband Kenneth of Moore Croft, WY, Phillis Cordingly of Thermopolis, WY; 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM on Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Don Strauser officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Ken Blakeman, Chuck Vance, Joshua Marler, Dennis Jason Stricklin, Joseph Scrogham and Dave Merx. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Danny Cordingly.
Interment was in the New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
