Kelly Goodson

Kelly Elzia Goodson of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on October 16, 2011 at the St. John's Mercy Medical Center having reached the age of seventy four years, two months and eleven days. He was born on August 5, 1937 at Palmer, Missouri a son to the late William Estell Goodson and Ella (Stroup) Goodson.

Kelly was a longtime member of Belgrade Pentecostal Church of God. He was devoted to the Lord and knew when he left from this earth, he would forever reside in heaven with his loved ones who passed before him.

Kelly was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends and family. He was a talented musician who had a passion for singing and playing his guitar. He wrote and recorded several beautiful songs that will forever remind his loved ones of his beautiful unique voice. Kelly had a special bond with his siblings and treasured his childhood memories of growing up together. He will be sadly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Kelly was preceded in death by a son Rodney Goodson; wife Jessie Goodson Skiles; brother Everett Goodson and two sisters Lela Kean Harrison and Betty Hedrick.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Karen Goodson of Belgrade; four daughters Paula Goodson-Link of Mineral Point; Shelia Wood Goodson of Belgrade, Theresa Goodson Johnson of Belgrade, Kelly Ann Adams and fiancé Dale Morgan of Caledonia; step children Morgan (Charles) Dunn of Farmington, Jennifer Dunn of St. Louis; Cynthia (Ron) Braddy of Park Hills, Chris (Leigh) Franklin of Terre Du Lac; two brothers Bill Goodson of Mineral Point, John (Wynona) Goodson of Potosi; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, October 20, 2011 2 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Bro. Wendell Nipper and Bro. Brad Asher officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Kaiton Tarvid, Justin Johnson, Kelly Joel Johnson, Christopher Vandergriff, Roger Hedrick, Joe Kean, Everett Goodson and Terry Goodson. Serving as Honorary pallbearer was Johnny Ray Goodson.

Interment and final prayers were held at the New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
