Kay F. Johnson of Black, formerly of Higbee, Missouri departed this life on October 18, 2011 at her daughter's residence having reached the age of sixty five years, one month and twenty one days. She was born on August 27, 1946 at St. Louis, Missouri a daughter to the late John C. Goldsberry and Emma F. (McCarty) Goldsberry.
On April 17, 1965, Kay was united in marriage to Roger L. Johnson, Sr. and they shared forty six years together bringing five children to complete their family.
Kay devoted her life to loving and caring for her family and all those around her. She always saw the good in others, even when no one else could. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, with a gentle spirit and a quick smile. Kay was a great inspiration to all who were blessed to know her, always putting the wants and needs of others before herself and always going to the Lord in prayer for direction in all things.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by an infant son Roger Vance Johnson.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband Roger Johnson, Sr. of Black, MO; three sons Roger (Julie) Johnson Jr. of Centralia, MO.; Troy (Stephanie) Johnson of Ironton, MO; Jonathan (Karen) Johnson of Grayville, IL; two daughters Tammy (Russell) Downing of Moberly, MO; Vickey (Duane) Bonney of Mineral Point, MO; brother John (Lynn) Owings of Stillwater, OK; sister Carol Phillips of Eddy, TX; eleven grandchildren Haley Johnson, Cody Johnson, Bethany Lewis, Emaly Lewis, Dallas Downing, Colton Downing, Destry Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Allison Bonney-Evans, Cody Bonney, Emma Kay Johnson; two great grandchildren Maliki Johnson, Jackson Stinnet; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 2 PM at the Family Life Fellowship, Moberly, MO with
Rev. George Civey officiating. Serving as pallbearers were John Evans, Cody Bonney, Dallas Downing, Cody Johnson, Destry Johnson, Colton Downing and Morgan Johnson.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Higbee City Cemetery, Higbee, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
