Kathryn "Kat" Thurmond

Kathryn Cheryl Thurmond, also known to family and friends as Kat, was born on September 28, 1961, in Ellington, MO, a daughter to the late Virgil Voyles and the late Mary (Shipp) Falterman. Kat passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, having reached the age of fifty-nine years, eleven months, and twenty-four days.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her children: Rebecca (Thomas) Kadlez, Jason Voyles,
Vanessa Jenkins, Benjamin Thurmond; step-children: Jacob Barfield, Jonathan Barfield,Tasha Barfield; grandchildren: Gabrielle , Breanna, Michael, Ian, Jocelyn, Malea, Coteney, Bella, Micha, and other very special grandchildren; great grandson, Noah; siblings: Kitty Bretz, Pamela (Britt) Day, John (Ruby) Falterman, Fanny (Patrick) Cavalier, David Falterman, Louis Falterman, Steve Shipp, and Cynthia Rabalais.

Kat was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Mary and Luke C. Falterman; father, Virgil Voyles; Spouse, Edward Thurmond; son, Mathew Thurmond; son in law, Adam Jenkins; and siblings: Luke E. Falterman, and Tisa Falterman.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 1-3 PM at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 E High St, Potosi, MO 63664.

A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 3 pm.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
