Kathleen Harmon, also known as “Tooter” by family and friends, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, August 10, 2024; having reached the age of 100 years, 5 months, and 24 days. She passed peacefully at her daughter’s home on the Brakefield Family Farm in Courtois, Missouri.
Kathleen was a woman of faith, she accepted Jesus at an early age as her savior and lived a life devoted to Him. She faithfully attended church every Sunday up until health began to decline. Kathleen enjoyed working around the yard and tending to the farm. Making quilts, planting flowers, and gospel music were just a few of the many things that she enjoyed. In her younger years she worked at Brown Shoe Company and Eagle Hurst Resort where she made many of her life long friends.
Kathleen married the love of her life Cliff Harmon on January 27, 1942. From this union three children were born and Kathleen and Cliff shares 75 years of life and love together.
Those who remain to carry on the legacy of Kathleen include her daughter: Ella Jo Bishop (husband, David), son: Chris Harmon (wife, Judy); grandchildren; Tracy Brawley (husband, Tommy); Thomas Bishop (wife, Megan); great-grandchildren: Joseph, Wyatt, Emma, and Madison; and one brother: Jack Breakfield (wife, Carol).
Kathleen is preceded in passing by her parents: Jim and Thelma Brakefield; her beloved husband, Cliff Harmon; her infant son, Tommy Harmon; and nephew: George Breakfield.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Kathleen will deeply miss such a special lady but are comforted in knowing that Heaven became much sweeter upon her arrival.
Mrs. Kathleen Harmon’s family invites all who knew her to join them for a time of visitation on Wednesday August 14, 2024 from 4:30 pm until 8 pm at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High St. Potosi MO 63664. Visitation will resume Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 10 am until her Funeral Service at 1 pm held in the DeClue Chapel. Interment and final prayers will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Belgrade, Missouri. DeClue Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Mrs. Kathleen Harmon.
