Judith Carol Nipper-Trummer of Potosi, Missouri, was born on July 30, 1947, a daughter of the late Albert Nipper and the late Norma Ruth (Banta) Nipper. Judy was the granddaughter of the late Epke and Zelma (Crump) Banta, Sr. and the late Judge Simon G Nipper and Sarah (Frances) Nipper. Judy passed away on December 1, 2021, having reached the age of seventy-four years, four months, and one day.
Judy traveled the world as a Free-lance Photo Journalist taking pictures for National Geographic, United Press International, and the Kentucky Derby. Her work in photojournalism took her around the world She was organizing an art exhibit of her work called "Women in War" from her work in Kampuchea (Cambodia) to investigate and verify the atrocities of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge which helped in the telling of "The Killing Fields". While she was there she learned and photographed a special group of women who performed a dance that was passed down from generation to generation to keep the art alive. Her showing was very well received; many people attended and contributed to her work. Judy was a person for all seasons.
Judy was survived by siblings: Kimberly (Wayne) Nipper-Krueger and Lindell (Mary) Nipper; nieces: Olivia Kreuger and Lydia (Dane) Arand; nephews: Matthew (Kathy) and Samuel (Nicky) Nipper; uncle Epke Banta, Jr; and many great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Norma Nipper and grandparents Epke and Zelma (Crump) Banta and Judge Simon Nipper and Sarah (Frances) Nipper.
A Graveside service will be held at 1 pm on October 8, 2022, at Redbud Memorial Gardens in Potosi, MO, officiated by Father Rodger Fleming of St. James Catholic Church.
