Juanita Hawkins

Juanita Bernice Hawkins of Salem, Missouri departed this life on November 10, 2008 at The Bluffs Nursing Home in Columbia, having reached the age of seventy nine years, three months and nineteen days. She was born on July 22, 1929 at St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late Wilbur Ondo Kuntz and Della Mae Akins Kuntz.

She was united in marriage on September 21, 1946 to Stanley Hawkins and they shared 58 years together. Mr. Hawkins preceded her in death on December 4, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Stanley Hawkins, Jr. and three brothers Bob Kuntz, Jerry Kuntz and Joe Kuntz.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include two daughters, Kathy Eimer of Columbia and Edwina Roof and husband Perry of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 12 PM at the Lakewood Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chris Hawkins, Paul Hawkins, Alan Thompson, Lloyd Henry and Zach Leach.

Interment and final prayers were held at Lakewood Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
