Joyce Delight Lawson of Hopewell, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, May 10, 2007, having reached the age of 71 years and 23 days. She was born on April 17, 1936 at Herculaneum, Missouri, a daughter of the late Charles Emmett Politte and Nora Kathleen (Wade) Politte.
Joyce was united in marriage to Cecil Lawson on December 24, 1953 at Flat River, Missouri and five children were born to this union. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Hopewell Church of God.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Silvey.
Those who remain to mourn her passing include her loving and devoted husband Cecil B. Lawson, Sr. of Hopewell; four sons, Cecil Lawson Jr. and wife Patti of Caledonia, Jeffery Lawson and wife Tammy of Irondale, Darrell Lawson and wife Vicki of Hopewell and Douglas Lawson of Hopewell; one sister Iva Henry and husband Alvin of Potosi; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Hopewell Church of God, with Rev. Jim Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Ernie Lawson, Nick Henry, Dan Robinson, T. J. Lawson, Clint Lawson and Mike Heifner.
Interment and finale prayers were held at the Hopewell Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted in the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
