Joseph Donald Worden, Jr. was born on September 16, 1936 in Washington County, Missouri. He was a son to the late Joseph Worden and the late Goldie (Winfield) Worden. Joseph was united in marriage to Georgia Akers and five children were born unto this union.
Joseph entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at his residence having reached the age of eighty years, three months, and fifteen days.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Georgia Worden of Potosi; four children: Cicily Siefert of Park Hills, Patricia Ann Lawson and husband Terry of Potosi; Charnel Kelley and husband Kenny of Irondale, and Joseph Donald Worden III and wife Erica of Irondale; sisters: Delores Owens of Potosi, Doris Hull of Ironton, Janet Kearns of Potosi, and Connie Sadler and husband Larry of Caledonia; twelve grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lynn Lee; brother, Murphy Worden; brothers-in-law: Clifford Owens, Lawrence Hull, and Donnie Kearns; grandson, Danny Ray Brooks; and two great-grandchildren: Abbie Gail Hamlett and Harley Sierra Lawson.
During his life, Joe enjoyed many simple pleasures. He loved fishing and hunting, singing and attending music festivals. He enjoyed traveling, and took several trips with his wife, Georgia. They especially loved visiting Colorado and took many vacations there over the years. Most of all, Joe thoroughly valued every moment spent with his family. He centered his life on the love they shared, and that brought him the greatest happiness of all.
Visitation for Joseph was held on Monday, January 02, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, beginning at 10:00 AM.
A funeral service began at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Wayne Gibson officiating. Interment and final prayers were held at the Worden Family Cemetery in Potosi.
DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements for Joseph during this time of remembrance.
