Joseph Thompson

Joseph Thompson of Mineral Point, Missouri passed away on March 16, 2016 at his residence having reached the age of sixty five years, eleven months, and sixteen days. He was born on March 29, 1950, in Mattawamkeag, Maine, a son to the late Melvin Thompson and the late Sarah (Powers) Thompson.

Joe is survived by his son: Michael Thompson of St. Louis; step-son: David Northstine and wife Jamie of Belleville, Illinois; step-daughter: Jennifer Montgomery and husband Joshua of St. Louis; father and mother-in-law: John and Marge Elders of DeSoto; two brothers: Alton Thompson and wife Sharon of Mineral Point, and Arnold Thompson of Caribou, Maine; four sisters: Dorothy Doane of Kingman, Maine, Robena Dugans and husband Hugh of Milo, Maine, Joann Hunt and husband Vernon of Levant, Maine, and Gloria Anderson and husband Roger of Mineral Point; five grandchildren: Anthony Montgomery, Ayeriann Montgomery, Addison Montgomery, Ashley Thompson, and Katrina Thompson; brother-in-law: Don Wright, Sr. of Foxborough, Massachusetts; and also many other extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his wife Deborah (nee: Elders) Thompson; brothers: Melvin, Jr. Thompson, Carl Thompson, Harold Thompson, Basil Thompson, Miles Thompson, and Virgil Thompson; sisters: Martha Corbett, Geneva Michaud, and Evelyn Wright; and brother-in-law: Lewis Doane.

Visitation for Joe will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of service, held at the Irwin Chapel Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, Illinois. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Sunset Hill Memorial Estates. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
