Joseph “Joe” Kesselring of Potosi, Missouri passed away on April 14, 2016 at the Mercy Jefferson – Festus Hospital having reached the age of seventy nine years, three months, and thirteen days. He was born on January 1, 1937, in Redbud, Illinois, a son to the late Joseph Theodore Kesselring and the late Elsie (Braun) Kesselring. On April 24, 1971, Joe was united in marriage to Peggy (Blair) Kesselring.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Peggy Kesselring of Potosi; two daughters: Tracey White and husband Mike of Imperial, and Mindy Kesselring of Potosi; daughter-in-law: Sarah Kesselring of Charleston; sisters: JoAnn Eye of Potosi, and Ruth Farrar and husband Bob of Jefferson City; in-laws: Norman Blair and wife Lavera of Potosi, Gary Blair and wife Barb of Potosi, Dave Blair and wife Mary Jo of Potosi, Polly Brumbough and friend Larry of St. Louis, Patsy Portell and husband Joe of Potosi, Rita Stephans and husband Frank of Potosi, Joan Blair of Potosi, and Patsy Blair of Potosi; five grandchildren: Michael White, Savannah Kesselring, Logan Kesselring, Kasey Evans, Seph Kesselring; four great grandchildren: Colby Stone, Carly Ferguson, Addison Evans, and Cash White; adopted daughter: Susan Davis and family; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his son: Joseph Daniel Kesselring; brothers-in-law: Marshall “Sonny” Eye, Norray Blair, and Dorman Blair; sister-in-law: JoAnn Blair; and dear friend: Bill Bodimer.
Visitation for Joe will be held on Saturday evening, April 16, 2016 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Sunday, April 17, 2016, beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, at the DeClue Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Dwight Petete officiating.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens with full military honors presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
