Joseph Earl Holley of Potosi, Missouri passed away on November 6, 2015 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty two years, seven months, and nine days. He was born on March 28, 1933 in River Mines, Missouri, a son to the late Earl Benton Holley and the late Leola Bertha " Tince" (Wininger) Holley.
Joseph is survived by his daughter Tammy Fosse and husband Shawn; two granddaughters Emma Jean and Jolene Marie Fosse all of Henning, Minnesota; brother Dr. Darrell "Jack" Holley and wife Erma of O'Fallon, Missouri; two nieces Terri Riffee and husband Dave of St. Peters, Missouri and Amy Tinsley and husband Barry of Stockbridge, Georgia; nephew Randy Holley of St. Louis, Missouri. Also surviving are many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by one brother Dr. Harold Benton Holley.
Joseph served as a Corporal in the United States Army from September 3, 1957 until March 19, 1959. While in the military, he served in the C.I.C (Counterintelligence Corps). He attended Flat River schools from Kindergarten through Junior College. After graduating with his Associate’s degree, Joe graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Missouri University. Later, he received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration through Whorten University. Some of Joe’s favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, and traveling. Joe traveled all across the United States, into Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Africa. Joe loved his family very much and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation for Joseph was held on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 10:30 AM till 1:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home. Funeral services began at 1:00 PM, Monday in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Josh Wilson officiating.
Honoring Joseph by serving as his pallbearers were David Riffee, Barry Tinsley, Randy Holley, Matthew Riffee, Daniel Riffee, Tracy Riffee, Claudia Holley, Randy "Jack" Holley Jr., and Jacob Holley.
Interment and final prayers took place at the St. Francois Memorial Park, Bonne Terre, Missouri.
All funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
