Joseph Brown

Joseph Jerome ?Jerry? Brown of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on March 28, 2009 at his residence having reached the age of ninety four years, one month and fourteen days. He was born on February 14, 1915 at Richwoods, Missouri, a son to the late John Brown and Frances Victoria Scalarando Brown.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Mamie Brown; three brothers Osborne Brown, John Brown, Daniel Brown; two sisters Lela DuDack, Cecelia Miner.

Jerry served in the United States Army for four years. He received the American Theatre Ribbon; European American Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star; Victory Medal; Good Conduct Medal and 1 Overseas Bar.

Jerry was a member or the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Potosi.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life are three sons Amos Brown of Alabama; David Brown of Alabama; Doyle Brown and Karen of Mineral Point; sister Rita Fincher of Potosi; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Walter Lemmermann officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Owen Bourbon, Shawn Ward, Kenneth Ruble, Robert Ruble, Julia Ruble, Doyle Brown and Tom Cain.

Interment and final prayers were held at the New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
