Johnny Joseph Dobbs, Sr. of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on May 4, 2013 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of seventy nine years, nine months and twenty five days. He was born on July 9, 1933 in Richwoods, Missouri a son to the late George Dobbs and Betty (Sorrels) Dobbs.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve Dobbs, son Johnny Dobbs, Jr., daughter Barbara Golden, granddaughter Rhonda Lea Ames, two great granddaughters Sydney Leigh, Makinzie Graham, two sisters Barbara Dobbs, Katherine Sorrels, three brothers Jim Dobbs, Jacob Dobbs and Edward DeClue.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are four sons Spanky Courtway and wife Peggy of Fredericktown, Billy Dobbs and Meghan Coleman of Cadet, Tommy Dobbs and wife Kshe of Cadet, Danny Dobbs of Oklahoma, thirteen daughters Jane Drennen and husband Robert of Cadet, Paula Young and husband Jerry of Potosi, Jeannie Drennen and husband Virgil of Cadet, Gidget Ratliff and husband Carter of Cadet, Viola Ruble and husband Robert of Potosi, Christy Farris and husband Mike of Cadet, Debbie Franklin and husband Kevin of Illinois, Joann Moore of Virginia, Gina Dobbs of Oklahoma, Vivian Lea of Mississippi, Shelly Dobbs of Illinois, Christina Dobbs of Mississippi, Karen Tatum and Jory Miller of Potosi; daughter in law Stephanie Dobbs, three sisters Sharon Witt, Saundra King, Betty Lou Dunn; special niece Virginia Bannister, three granddaughters Brittany Reid, Brooke Steele, Josie Carter; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Jim Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Billy Dobbs, Tommy Dobbs, Curtis Courtway, Virgil Drennen, Mike Farris, Robbie Ruble, Brent Dobbs and Robert Ruble.
Interment and final prayers were held at the New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
